Job Description :
The Network Engineer Sr. - Architect, while reporting to the Network Services Senior Manager, will be responsible for maintaining current working knowledge of industry best of breed solutions for enterprise-level network and related solutions leading design and implementation efforts for corporate and remote network infrastructure, including the retail and global networks participating as a leading member of the IT Architecture Committee developing high-level and detailed documentation, including architectural and procedural documents along with implementing and supporting a variety of network and related infrastructure systems. The Network Engineer Sr. - Architect will also provide top-level technical solution support direct support for departmental leadership activities systems expertise and technical support requiring in-depth understanding in a breadth of technologies and disciplines and will work in on call rotation with other engineers and architects.
Duties and Responsibilities
oArchitectural design and documentation of the company''s global network infrastructure, including corporate, retail, and remote infrastructure.
oParticipate as a leading member of the IT Architecture Committee to help design scalable, enterprise-level solutions for networks, operating systems, databases, and applications.
oImplement and support a variety of network and related infrastructure systems.
oProvide top-level technical solution support.
oProvide direct support for departmental leadership activities.
oManage and support a breadth of network technologies, including routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, multicast solutions, WAN technologies, etc.
oEnsure IT Infrastructure processes, procedures and technology support the protection of IT assets from unauthorized access.
oManage in-scope networks and systems in accordance with the formal change management procedures and processes.
oProvide support for basic budgeting and procurement processes.
oProvide timely status reports regarding projects and activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
oExpert-level understanding of network architecture and solutions, with a focus on Cisco solutions.
oExtensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting networks in enterprise-level organizations.
oVery strong written and oral communication skills.
oExperience designing and supporting Voice over IP solutions.
oExpertise with a breadth of network technologies, including routers, firewalls, wireless solutions, multicast solutions, WAN technologies, etc.
oAbility to work and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
oAbility to maintain current working knowledge of related hardware, software, solutions, and processes.
oExperience participating in large, complex projects.
oExperience with overseeing basic budgeting and procurement processes.
oExperience working with third parties (contractors/consultants).
oExperience with coordinating internal and external auditing efforts in order to meet compliance requirements for network security related procedures, processes and activities.
oAbility to function as the highest point of escalation for network-related issues.
oAble to be a team player and to be customer-service focused.
oStrong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
Work Experience and/or Education
oBachelor's degree or higher preferred.
oSeven to ten years IT experience required with three to five years of experience architecting and engineering enterprise-level network infrastructure is required.
oThree to five years' experience participating in formal projects is required.
oExtensive knowledge and experience with designing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions is required.
oAdvanced knowledge of the following technologies: Nexus, VPC, VSS, OSPF, BGP, RIP, DMVPN, IPSLA, MPLS, SIP, IOS, IOS-XE, F5, Multicast/PIM, VRF, IPSEC on IOS-XE, PFR, WCCP, WAAS, CUBE, and UCS required.
oCisco CCIE certification strongly preferred.
Compensation will consist of a competitive salary based on your experience, with bonus potential.
